So I was just wondering. If forum rank is not just about post count, and likes and other things are involved in it. Is it possible to get captain without 1000 posts? Or is that hard set?

Most definitely! I love having more ranks! I've suggested before to use pirate names from the game Like buccaneer, gunner, brute. Or even monster names like kraken, sea serpent and what not.
