Ahoy, Android-loving Captains! As part of our continuing commitment to Plunder Pirates, the next update will include 64-bit support. Google now requires all apps to support 64-bit and to target higher API levels in order to be published on the Play Store. As well as bringing in security improvements, players on 64-bit devices should see the game running smoother. Huzzah! Sadly, the downside of this is that we've had to drop support for older versions of Android - 4.0.3 and 4.0.4 (Ice Cream Sandwich). The game will no longer be available on devices running these versions. The update will be with you over the next few weeks!
Hi @Lynsey [Midoki] - someone has to ask, might as well be me. Will the new event, PH, and other updates be included in this upcoming android 64-bit update? Cheers and happy sailing! -Oak
Yes! Obviously the new update will also be out on iOS, minus the Android 64-bit support. We just wanted to give people a heads up about this particular aspect of the update so that it won't come as a nasty surprise if they go to update and find that they can't. @Intimidator may be pleased to hear that the missing barrels of grog when storages are full are now back.
Thanks for the update @Lynsey [Midoki] . I do have a question, does this update have any effect on older iOS devices?
The 64-bit stuff is Android specific, the rest of the update (new PH, new event) will be available to everyone. If you're on a very old iOS device, you may find the frame rate slower when battling a maxed out PH 14.
Hey @Lynsey [Midoki] - With the new update coming up soon-ish, I was wondering if y’all were going to debut the new event anytime soon? Perhaps as the next guild event? Thanks! -Oak
Not as the next guild event - we want to give people time to get settled with the new shiny Pirate Hall before throwing a new event at them. It'll make it's debut in the individual event form next month though - keep an eye out on the news.
