Developer Notes: Greenbeard

Greenbeard was one of the first Legendary Pirates concepted, and was originally called ‘Mortar Mortimer’. He isn’t based on any historical pirate, instead coming directly from our fevered imaginations. We decided that he was Blackbeard’s underappreciated cousin.

Greenbeard’s is a fairly tough damage dealer, who attacks the nearest object with his axe. His special ability, ‘Mortar Madness’, targets several nearby objects, and will launch mortar shells at them when triggered.



Greenbeard’s appearance is fairly obviously tied to his name, with a large, luxurious and verdant beard.
