ive seen ph9 bases from my guild and they say the damage and range the cannons on the corners have, when i go onto ph6 and ph7, they say nothing about damage or range. So do they actually do anything at all? Or is it for aesthetic?

Cannons are important as are all defensive items. I suggest you max your defense including walls and troops you use. If you have ggs & prs train them. You will need them when you get bigger
Absolutely! They can inflict massive damage. Determine which distance they need to cover based on your layout. ALWAYS reload after being attacked.
