Since the update the game freezes sometimes and runs more slowly. IOS players in my guild told me this. Another guy gets always kicked out from the game during attacks. What changend with the NEW version? Doesn't new also mean something new in the game for us? but no
New version has some minor tweaks and fixes, along with some bigger changes to underlying systems. Unfortunately it looks like some of these changes are causing the game to be a little sluggish on old iOS devices running iOS 9 (ones running iOS 7 & 8 aren't as impacted), so we're currently looking into this. As always, if you're having issues I recommend sending an in-game support ticket via the Log > Settings > Help > Support, listing what device and OS version you're using, and as much detail about the problems as possible (where they're occurring, exactly what happens, etc).
Thank you Lynsey. I put it here, because I would like to know, have other players the same issue at the moment. Yes, I told my "guys" yesterday that they send a in-game Support message. They have all the newest IOS version.
Since the update, the game will freeze...all the time. I can't even play it. 30-60 sec and BAMM. This has happened with other games in the past after updates. Like Star Wars commander and the zombie game. I've deleted those games after spending money on them. Please address this issue, I don't want to do the same here. I've been playing this game for more than two years and have a lot of time invested in it. My iPAD is an older one, but many other games play fine (War Robots, ZG Survival, Iron Force...etc.). Whatever new code routines you put in...NOT GOOD. As a fellow developer (old school mainframe), I know all about code failures and issue. Thanks in advance. Currently running iOS 9.3.5.
I have two iPad 2's. Neither will play the game. I have noticed that it will crash within minutes of the game loading. Forcing more free memory doesn't seem to help any longer. In the past I would use a memory manager and be sure to not have any other apps running. When building troops today, it was a huge pain, I had to open the app multiple times, then slowly select troops. If I selected troops quickly, it seemed to crash more often and ultimately none of the troops would show as building when relaunching. For one, I was surprised I even completed a battle. Then the collecting from the map was worse than usual, every few minutes crashing on collecting from islands. Half of the monster collections crashed after each one. Way more than before. Spending cash on walls also had to be done multiple times for it to finally take. It appears to me that communications to the server are a big issue here. I run two accounts, and both are at level 10. From what I have seen, when one of them crashes, or is timed out/disconnects from the server, then the second account will likely just die at the same moment. Watching router logs, it seems the ports are closing on the server side and killing the clients. I'm only guessing here, however it looks like that. When the client crashes, the router reports malformed packets and blocks them. Even removing all protections on the uverse router for testing, this same thing will happen. I can see in the logs that the iPad is indeed dropping wifi at some point and then rejoins once the app has finished its crash. Also about in game bug reports, this feature has never worked for the iPad2. More than 50% if the ads result in a crash. I have considered that ad caching has something to do with these crashes with the newest version. On first launch it seems like it might download the ad and prepare for a launch of it, which would consume more resources. If there were an option to turn off ads would be great since they are so unstable and tend to be a waste of time resulting in no gain and lost time. While in streaks prior, the game will certainly crash after a few times surrendering. Even when quickly deploying many troops, the app becomes overwhelmed and crashes sometimes. I also have spent money on gems, and would hate to be forced to give them up.
I think the writing is on the wall for old devices; if we knew what was coming and could prepare that would be better. I have a 4th generation iPad that also locks up during the game, but right now I just live with a few seconds pause and it will continue.
Taking a look at the iOS 11 requirements are a good indication of where things are heading: (iPhone 5S and newer; iPad Air and newer; iPad mini 2 and newer; iPad Pro all versions; iPod touch 6th generation.) Midoki haven't stated that they too will be dropping support for older devices yet... but if the manufacturer will no longer offer support - it is unlikely that app developers will do for too much longer.
Thank you Lynsey, I am also the one of the players who has iPad mini 2 and runs with IOS 9.3.5. Recently I have many time freezing screen when I login the games. As you suggest, I will issue a support ticket. By the way, in order to make sure this problem comes from old device, I reboot iOS system. Since everything comes back, my pp in rumble become half only. Please help how come it becomes like this? Thanks in advance
I have also an iPad 4 and i have IOS version 10.3.3. No problems. But other guys in my guild have problems.
I battled a few times today, found many bases which weren't being maintained. More than usual. IMO, this release put a many offline.
IMO, this has a lot to do with the overweight ad system you are using. Canceling an ad, and if you can do this without it crashing; performance improves significantly. Maybe you should make an opt out on the ads. After all, I've spent enough on this game that I should be allowed to play for free without ads.
I get that lot too, even in wifi. I blame Morpheus, I should have taken the blue pill. Shake the device and blow on it like the old Atari & Nintendo games.
One more crash point, when a task is completed; likely a crash will occur. This happens even while in a battle.
I'm sorry but I think humour does add (and always has) great value to this forum If you can't see the relevance, don't worry about it, others 'got' it!
@Matrix Actually mate, I really do care about others, come by my guild and I'll show you what I mean. As a matter of fact, there's a lot of guild captains that care about others. Like @peg-brain bob said earlier, you've got to have a sense of humor in this forum, that's how we all get along here.
Right, we've made a few changes server-side that should hopefully improve stability and performance on the older devices such as the iPad 2. We will be continuing to look at further ways to improve performance on these devices, however!
@Sea Patriot Thank you for this offer. With this current bug, you don't want me in your guild, the accounts are really of no use at the moment. I might drop by at some point once this issue is corrected. I didn't find the comment funny, as well it isn't helpful in resolution of this problem. Possibly the forum needs a jokes thread for that kind of thing... I have a purpose in this thread, I'm not commenting to hear myself speak.
