Care to explain a little bit of how the game is played? Like how it starts, what allows you ship to move, how do you win a battle, etc.

I really don't know anything about this game yet... The video,makes it look fun with very cool models. The game play is scheduled for 6 hours on two nights (two separate events)... I am just going to have a try.

Ok, I am back (well, almost, sitting at Airport in Chicago, delayed by snow).

So, this event was a blast. While Victoria conditions did not feel balanced, the mechanics for moving, shooting, boarding, etc. we're EXCELLENT! I really had a great time. Here are some pictures and commentary...

Grabbed a token giving me the captaincy of a pirate vessel

Then, While I was navigating my own ship into attack position

Taking down the Spanish Gold Ship... Well, we negotiated 600 Gold Dablums for the release of their ship after three pirate ships got her to run a'ground)

The pirate fleet taking a Dutch merchants ship!

Another high light of the night was one pirate ship buying up all the wholes at each port with the plan to create a whore island... Alas, the kraken got her ship first. The event was a blast and each port had a govonor (or pirate govonor, in our case) who was in costume and interacted with us in a fun role playing style. 6 hours later, we called the last turn and finished. Fun!

 

Thanks for the update and photos! I would love to check that out in person someday.
