@Slice n' Dice The image you're trying to post has a weird URL, probably designed to prevent it from being linked on another site. The forum image handler won't let you post those. Naw, JPEG, BMP and PNG are the most common picture file types. It's the more advanced ones like TIF and SVG that most free storage sites don't support. Which is a pain because I prefer TIF and SVG.
Not talking about the storage sites. I mean phpBB allowing it using the image link function. The last time I checked, BMP was disabled by default, although it could be enabled either by a setting or a plugin.
