BP frequency from fish/serpents is broken for certain players.

I've mentioned this before around the forum, but I'm now convinced it needs a bug report. Let me preface this by saying I know that these monsters don't always give BP. The problem is that two players doing numerous attacks, with the same crew, against the same fish/serpents will have wildly different BP totals. So much so that it's unfair. Something is broken here.

The only way we can prove this is by you guys reporting your stats. If you do a lot of fishing, and aren't getting BP, keep a log of your last 5-10 attacks, and post it in this thread. I know there are lots of you out there who claim to never get BP, so if you want to change that, now is the time to speak up

I'm an idiot, so I've logged the reward from all my 4* Fish/Serpent battles, and I think you can consider my results a best-case scenario. If BP from Fishes/Serpents is truly random, then I must be the luckiest SOB on the planet (I assure you, I'm not). There are people out there who could do the same number of battles as i've listed, and be lucky to clear 5,000 BP. That's just not fair.

I'll have a similar report soon. I haven't received BP from sea battles since 2014 sooo....

 

I got many bp like the highest is 2000 from a bigger fish before the update...now i can see the amount of bp has considerably changed and im getting bp from fish and serpent like 200-500. Not anymore 1000 even. I dont know if i had broken something or the whole process has changed by itself!

@ Kelani, I have NEVER even gotten close to that amount of BP from those fish/serpents. I am averaging around 300 BP overall per attack from the 4 star Big Fish, I never kept track of the other creatures. That was over an 1 month period last year that I kept a brief record to determine my average. I think you have the glitch and have been very fortunate. Will look forward to hearing what others have to say.

 

Far out Brussel Sprout, I haven't kept a record but it sure as hell doesn't resemble anything like yours!

From my experiences, it seems like they just reduced the frequency with which the max BP amount appears. @Marmaladesix just got 2,000 from a 4* Big a few days ago, but as you can see from all the 2,000s in my chart above, and your recent experience, it's not quite so easy anymore.

Ugh, EvilSprouts! If you have any memory of what kind of awards you received, post them And yes, I max the Observatory whenever I can, and you raise a great point. Back when the funding cost was 50BP/5% I was still able to max the observatory. When other guild members can't ewven afford Academy 5 after a month of fishing, that's just not right.

Also, there may be a glitch in my case, but it's not just me. It's like there's two camps of players. Ones who get all the BP, others who get none. I thought that was just my imagination until the Festive Fish Fiasco. Now we know there are two camps.

 

What the heck? I haven't logged mine, but I can tell you the BP amounts are all over the planet for me. Sometimes I get none, sometimes I get 2k, sometimes I get 20. There is no consistency for me at all. For example, I have hit quite a few lvl 4 serpents and gotten no BP, to the point I gave those up. I focused on lvl 3 and 4 fish. I did hit a lvl 4 big fish today for 800 bp, but that's the most I've seen in a while.

 

OK, maybe there's three groups, then Anyway, hopefully more than a few of you will post a 10-Fish/Serpent log and we'll see something interesting.

btw, i am going to update my original post with the actual BP amounts those monsters appear to give.

 

Killed six fish yesterday, from 2 star till 4 star, best I got was 700 BP once!
Three times I got 200BP and the rest I got either gems, gold and/or grog or just 20BP

I rarely get BP.

What's really offensive though, just like many of the quests, is the gold/grog rewards. I attack a fellow pirate island and come back with a million or close to it. I spend 12+ hours on a sail, defeat a sea monster, and get...1000 gold?!

All: if you're reporting or updating stats for your fishing trips, please edit your original post, and make a simple list of your entries. Saying "I attacked a 4* fish and got 50 BP and a rock" won't really help show the problem. We need players to post lists of 5-10 results to show the discrepancy. Also, don't worry about 2* or 3* Fishes. Their BP is negligible anyway. For simplicity, only report the following monsters.

4* Big Fish (Blue)
4* Bigger Fish (Brown)
4* Sea Serpent (Green)
3* Bigger Fish (Brown)

Example:

4* Bigger Fish: 500EP, 100B
4* Bigger Fish: 2 Gems
4* Big Fish: 8 Gems
4* Serpent: 80,000 grog

The puny gold and grog are one thing, but I would like to add that getting one gem when exploring when the player has purchased over 100,000 seems a bit out-of-whack.

(note: I have more time to post in the forums because I am maxed out and can't battle due to long recruit times which require long distill time for grog, and no grog to win in battle anyway and "unbeatable by me (tm)" copy bases. lol)

 

I just saw this post so I will start keeping a log as well because I definitely have had bad luck with fishing.

The only friend I seem to have in the sea is the 4* serpent and even he hasn't been all that kind recently. Lately I normally get 50-200bp on my 3* and 4* star fish (or other nonsense like a couple gems or ep/gold/grog).

 

Thank you, Sparkle It sounds like you may be one of those having the problem with fishes. Serpents are a little more fickle, but they don't seem to be as stingy. I look forward to seeing your results!
