Anyway we could get control over our pirates during battle? It's insanely frustrating to watch my guys attacking buildings while getting mowed down by cannon fire. I'd love to be able to tell them what to attack. Also, could we get to use our ship in the assault? Have it lob cannon balls or something inland while we assault?
There are certain troops that attack certain buildings, like the brutes attack defenses (when they get attacked by them) and the thieves attack resource buildings.
