Anyone have successful strategies for beating the strongholds on the map? Or do you just smash 'n' grab what you can?
After many tries I finally was able to clear the 160 ranked stronghold by dolphin Island. The other strongholds are tougher. I needed tavern level 6 for 50 slots. I used 10 well upgraded brutes and 10 well upgraded gunners. I started the brutes marching at the gun towers and mortars. They were spread out some so the mortars wouldn't do as much damage. I dropped 5 gunners near each of the bunkers and tapped their ability to increase their damage. From there the pirates just did their thing and I got a total destruction.
I realized pretty early on that I wouldn't be able to defeat them until at least academy level 3 skills maxed out.
