Rebalanced Mortars and Brute

    Ahoy Mateys!

    Plunder Pirates has now been out in Canada and Finland for over a week and the initial response has been great.

    We've had loads of awesome comments and suggestions which we're currently sifting through. One of which is the power of the Mortars, which a lot of you felt were far too powerful. Well, guess what? We're listening... We've rebalanced the Mortars and made the Brute available from Academy Level 1, which we feel makes earlier progression much fairer.

    So, what are you waiting for? These changes are already live on our servers! Please give the new tweaks a try and let us know what you think.

    Again, thanks for all your feedback. Please keep it coming, whether here on the forums or over on Facebook. More cool stuff coming soon...

    Not sure how brutes will work for new players now but at the moment I still don't use them as I'm better off with 4 buccanneers rather than 1 brute but maybe as I get them stronger that will change.

    Also I am in the top 10 on the leaderboards but must admit I don't attack a whole lot yet and I originally said I thought mortar was strong as Karm first said, but I've been thinking the last few days watching defence logs that it's not really....people were just dumping all units in one spot so of course the splash damage slaughtered them. Now people just spread buccaneers all around your base and the mortar isn't op.

    I do think wall segments are scarece though my next pirate hall upgrade will cost 500k which is a lot and even still where I am at I can't wall off all of my defences even and that's not including any resource storage.

    Just though I'd edit and add gun towers do feel pretty weak to me at the moment even compared to cannons mainly due to range and damage a little. A dps number may be more helpful than just a damage number if some do lower damage but do it quicker ect

    Cool stuff, Xanthus! Working around the splash damage is always an interesting problem, especially in the heat of the action.
    Would be also good to hear what other people think about the towers. Anyone else?

    Yeah, the towers do seem weak. But, lvl (5 I think) does add +10 range, and I wonder if the potential is beginning to reveal itself.....? I'd like to see some pirates manning the tower…

    I like the look on the buccaneers' face, always the intelligent look. Got no words to describe the juggernaut, he looks confused as always:D
