While waiting for a new batch of troops to recruit I'll often do short exploration trips around the calm waters, collecting gold, grog, gems and EP along the way randomly. There's a 13 square path I follow that gives me a chance to find something every 6 seconds.
do u mean sailing around your island? that gives u gems? didn't know ... i have a tot of things to learn about tis game lol
yeah so you can run round in circles where there appears to be nothing to get and get items. I keep saying the map is the gift that just keeps on giving!
you literally just go round in circles. There's no hidden or secret path. Go round the square that is the ships base. nearly every circuit you'll get something. I'm not talking big rewards here but you do get something almost each time.
Keep to the light colored water as much as possible. Each run will take about 2 minutes. It's a good activity between upgrades
I can get it down to 1 minute 15 and occasionally you can get three hits of loot. 1 gem, 500 grog n gold. and yes, stick to the light coloured water, it's the fastest route. it's pretty pedestrian but horses for courses...
This strategy is probably why i was well over 5000 EP when I started saving for my lifhthouse upgrade
FWIW, I did this repeatedly for 12 hours a few weeks ago, and though I don't remember how much gold, grog or EP I gained, I did get 51 gems. Tried it another day, and got 22 gems, so there is definitely some randomness to it.
