I am unable to reload pirates to the tavern. I am still being attacked, but even reloading game still doesn't help. In reload screen selecting pirates is ok, but I am unable to add them to the empty tavern. Also, very cross that the last expedition gave me a a legendary costume that I had, costing 500 gems, but only gave me 50 gems as compensation.
To answer the second part of the question, chests have always given 10% of value when you get a duplicate. That is common knowledge, which leads me to believe you are in a not so active guild. Might want to consider joining PPBay (slack chat group) to get tips and info that you are not getting elsewhere. If interested, let me know and I'll post a link.
