What if instead of losing your pirates when they conquer a Rival Captain's village, the ones that survived get a fraction stronger or faster the next time you deploy them... until of course they fall on the battlefield.
Brutes have lots of health so they can take hits from the defences and then you place your troops behind them and they take no damage which means they will come back next battle and be even stronger if you use the same strategy. This would be a bit OP
It's a good idea, but it kinda seems there would be some problems that would arise from this change. People could drop rating so they can attack lower level bases, there troops will survive and get buffed, and then when the player rises to a higher rank their troops will be indestructible, especially if there is no limit to how much they can be buffed.
In order to remedy your concerns the 'Veteran Pirates' would only be able to increase say 2% points each time they survive for a maximum of 6%. So three successful attacks in a row would leave the veteran pirates capped at the 6% speed/attack/defense increase limit. Even a mere one percent per succession could be implemented for a less drastic balance.
Cool idea. Ye a maximum percentage gain would be a must, otherwise some units would get strong as hell
Or maybe a percentage chance of keeping your troops perhaps? Instead of vanishing after a battle, you have a 20-30% chance to use a unit again.
Sometimes I use to many troops on a very easy base and then at the end I have like 75% of them alive, so it would be great to get a percentage of them back
