I don't remember the costs of the earlier levels, but: Guild Hall 2 Lv 2 blacksmith = +7 damage for troops (40k donation cost) Lv 1 Stonemason = +200 hit points for walls (25k donation cost) Guild Hall 3 (3 days 750k gold) Lv 3 blacksmith = +9 damage for troops (80k donation cost) (costs 1.8 million gold and takes 6 days to build) Lv 2 Stonemason = +300 hit points for walls (75k donation) (costs 1.6 million and takes 4 days to build) Lv 1 Observatory = decreases exploration time Each donation seems to = 5% of the total amount of gold/grog needed for the perk to be activated for anyone in the guild that has the perk building. You can donate a maximum of 50% of the total cost of activation. So it takes a minimum of two people to activate a guild perk.
I actually skipped upgrading the guild hall for now, since all I get from it is the ability to upgrade the blacksmith, which is also very expensive I suggest waiting until you get to a higher lvl
