Can I control the pirate during battle?

For example, if you set decorations 2 levels deep, pirates deployed may go out to sea in the opposite direction if there is another target closer.

I believe the game is working as intended. You have to apply strategic thinking by considering unit pathing and building priority.

I get frustrated when my troops head off in a different direction than I intended also. However, I see it as part of the game and that it tells me I need to understand the strategies better. The personalities of each different character that lead them to do certain things seems pretty intentional. I agree with the people who say that the ability to have direct control over their actions would make the game less fun. My opinion is that if one game allows you to do something then another game behaving differently is great because it's not just a clone of the first one. I love and hate the fact that I can completely lose an attack on a much lower equipped player if I get my troop placement and selection wrong. I got it wrong. The troop movements were there for me to learn and I failed. That's my bad!
