You don't need a free builder to buy a builder

Anyone else know this? I sure didn't.

 

He's expected to build his own hut. They have terrible contracts.

 

I didn't know it, but said, to hell with it, tried and successfully purchased him.

Yes, I almost feel bad for them.. They don't even get any grog...

 

Seriously, my guys haven't had a break since October. And they're expected to build buildings with a mallet and a trowel, which any handyman will tell you is a terrible combo of tools. It's why stuff takes so damn long to build

 

It's a poor tradesman who blames his tools.

 

Touche. But still, Mallet + Trowel = not very efficient.

Pretty much all they had building the pyramids.

 

Yeah, and those probably only took a few days to finish.. And if the Farao got impatient, he could always just gem his way out of it (--->whip his way out of it...)

 

They did solid work though.

 

They also had copper chisels, and a ton of manpower. Give me enough mallet+trowel wielding builders, and I could build the space station eventually.

 

75 years for a pyramid, 7 days for an outhouse. Comparable I'd say, all things considered.

It would be hard to build your first builder hut if you needed one to build it for you. Sort of a chicken vs. the egg problem, no?

 

You buy the builder, he builds the hut. No mystery. Chicken vs egg is just freaky.

 

Frankly, I'm not even sure why my builders need huts, 3/4 of them are out of the house 24/7. (The other is just a brick-layer/wallmaker and only has to work when the pirates leave the tavern every so often)

 

Illusion of compliance with labor laws.
