It's funny. I'm at Disney World and I have an entire new outlook on the Pirate ride now. Lol

 

Heeey. Doesn't Disney have a rule banning facial hair on staff? If so, does that mean all the pirates look like Westley/Dread Pirate Roberts from The Princess Bride?

 

Mustaches are now ok...so yeah

Edit: my info is for the other side, Disneyland, not sure on facial hair rules for Disneyworld.

 

The Pirates have facial hair here. I never heard of that.

 

It wasn't until a few years ago that facial hair was allowed. Walt banned facial hair. Cast members are also not allowed to wear sunglasses where you can't see their eyes

 

@Christy - we're referring to the actual people, not the animatronics. just to be clear

 

I thought I also read somewhere that Walt also wouldn't hire employees who "had shifty/beady eyes, or looked villainous". May be a myth.

 

There are many myths about Walt, some true, but the shifty eyes thing has never been verified.
