I get garbage out of Bigger Fish but tons of iron and copper and silver...

Cornelius at Level 10
Romeo at Level 11
Blackbeard at Level 13

Once passed the Level 10+ for most of the LP...it need 3 days for each upgrade...

Oh damn...seems my mistake was in the other direction.
I have a screenshot but none image sharing sites are cooperating right now...'cept a few that don't work here.

 

I finally got some Raw Garnet from a 4* Serpent after lots of attempts and getting nothing useful in return. So I set sail again as I need one more Raw Garnet - and I get a bunch of crap (grog and EP) and one Glittering Amethyst out of a Davy Jones chest. That's not even on the list of items for that creature!!!

So frustrating.

China's mats are a bit diverse so iron doesn't ramp up as much as common mats do for other LPs, so in theory she should be easier to upgrade. Level 19 Ching above is super impressive! Grats sir.

 

Pretty sure once you get a chest, its all random again.

 

The two times I did get Raw Garnet from a Sea Serpent they came out of a Davy Jones Chest. I agree the results from any chest does seem random though. I've never got any Raw Garnet from any other sea battle though, whereas I think I've got most other things out of random chests. Garnet seems to be the hardest item to find for me.

I have loads of items for Ching ready and waiting for when Midoki stop dicking around and make her the fixed pirate for everyone.

It's funny, I just got Ching a week and a half ago and she is my highest ranked LP right now. Lol. Sitting at 13 now. I upgrade all of them as soon as I can, too. I just had a ton of her materials stored up.
