For you the matter is resolved. For many of us it is not. This is not a dictatorship, treat your customer like this and see how far that gets you.
My thoughts on who won this rumble: Although Laughing Skulls had pulled out a 5-700 points lead in the early hours of the morning before the rumble abruptly stopped. we had seen clearly that the lead exchanged hands many times during those 15 hours of rumbling. It does not matter who was in the lead (although if reversed it may be interesting the dialogue), this was an unfinished rumble. Midoki can claim different, but we know it was a programming error, and there are no insightful mechanics here. This rumble was a draw.
My thought exactly on both your posts above Rogue which was why I was pushing for a reply. As for the comment aimed at me there is something called a principal but as Chris clearly explained Midoki position on all of this I need say no more on the matter. Only time will tell if this game becomes a success I hope I am here to see it if it does for now jury is out debating
Rapt took the thoughts right out of my brain. So Midoki is saying it is better to attack 3 times, get a 1 star and 7 BP each time, than to be a successful attacker and get 1 3-star and 21BP. So Midoki is encouraging failure/medocrity/mini bases. Fantastic. And I agree with @roguecylon - I consider it to be a draw as well, especially with 8 hours left. No winner.
More attacks = more gems Rumbles have always been about gem use. Midoki has not denied it and we have all accepted it. I agree, it does seem backwards to rational thought, but makes sense from a business model standpoint. Rumbles earn Midoki money. I have confidence other guild vs guild competitions in the future will be more suited for what people are clamoring to see. Quality over quantity.
What we need, and what this forum should allow for is clarity. I don't mind quality over quantity, I've attacked PH8 bases successfully that where in the 900-1000s RP, and PH8 that were on the 200-400 range. My strategy is generally different, although these days I find plenty of fully maxed bases under 500. They just happen to be more rewarding (something Midoki has constantly failed to fix). We should know what accounts for BP, we should know what Rumble mechanics are. This piffy fog over these things does not benefit anyone, period.
While I agree with the idea that quality over quantity is what should be rewarded, I disagree with the idea that the rationale for the current system is to push gem use. If I am trying to push points in a rumble quickly and I'm doing it by racking up one star wins, it's easy enough to load my tavern with gunners and attack exposed PHs over and over without using many gems. The time it takes to take down the PH with a few gunners allows me to recruit nearly as fast as I use the units. The same goes for those who game the system with mini bases, you can rack up three star wins on the cheap thanks to the smaller tavern and lower troop recruitment times. Going after PH8 three star wins requires a full if not nearly full tavern each time. This adds up to more gems spent if you want to maintain a fast attack pace. In this case it seems the financial interests of Midoki and the best interests of a fair playing environment are actually in line.
House while I agree generally with many of your comments. You are missing the bigger picture. Rumbles serve two purposes: to provide players with additional avenues for gameplay, and to provide new revenue stream to Midoki. Think of the casino analogy, the odds of continued gem usage favour the house. The house wins always.
